The Development Centre of Thessaly (AKETH) is a non-profit organization, which supports small and medium
sized enterprises in the area of Thessaly. It was created in order to form a developmental tool, providing
consultative services to businesses and individual professionals in issues such as strategy, programming,
development, organization, professional training and re-training, investing in man and implementing the
strategy of enterprise civilization, the Centre offers new chances and possibilities to the new, dynamic
enterprise. The services that it offers, supporting enterprises, employees, unemployed people and bodies of the
public and private sector, include:

- Strategic design

- Business planning

- Training and educational programmes

- Feasibility and viability researches

- Assessment and realization of investments

- Providing services in certification of knowledge

At the same time, the Centre is activated in the research, study and promotion of activities which contribute
to the mental and cultural rise, the protection of our cultural-traditional heritage, the protection of the
environment, the scientific questioning and the popularization of knowledge in relation to art, civilization,
tradition, media(printed and electronic), computer science and new technologies.
The promotion of the activities that aim at the realization of these goals is accomplished through seminars,
meetings, conventions, shows, programme exhibitions, publication of books and creation of web sites etc,
which have to do with the previous fields of research and study.
The colleagues and staff of the Centre create a scientific group which consists of people specialized in the
submission and realization of national and European invest programmes, in the realization of programmes such
as Lingua and CITIZENSHIP EACEA and in the management of European Training Programs like LLP.

The role of the organization is to monitor and evaluate of the project. With its previous experience will help
for the implementation of the project. It will provide advises to the local coordinator and will organize the
seminars, workshops etc. for the project, as well it will provide the necessary equipment and the installations
for the implementation. It will help the communication between the partners local and foreign. Also it will
organize the transportation for the participants. As well it will expand the expertise and experience of operators
for a strong evidence for future action at European Projects. It will support the diffusion of the results of the
program and giving them to the local media.
